Glued and Sewed

Today after taking the older kids to seminary I returned home and worked on Patricia's dolly, securing and renewing the wig with both glue and sewing.  I also did some work on Marge's portrait.  When I finished the doll I took to to Lucinda's house so Patricia would have it as soon as possible.  I stayed to visit and engaged in a discussion of adolescent maturity and how nature leads them to 'leave the nest' by cutting off their previous tight connection to their parents.  In the midst of a lively conversation Calvin exclaimed that he had forgotten that he needed to be to work earlier.  I took him to the pizza place where he works then returned home and spend a few hours napping before it was time to go to Marge's house.  For the first time this season I began to consider the task of purchasing Christmas presents for my large collection of grandchildren.  I have a lot of time to kill on Monday and Wednesday evenings as Marge establishes her independence and I started browsing Amazon.  I ended up purchasing a number of gifts suitable for my older grandchildren.
